New Delhi: The National Conference (NC) urged the Centre on Monday “to reframe its policy for a significant and positive outreach to people of Jammu & Kashmir.”

“It’s time New Delhi accepts the certainties in Jammu and Kashmir. Unless the distress of the people of J&K is understood, nothing will grow on the ground. Unless New Delhi reframes its policy for significant and positive reach out to the people of J&K, there cannot be any improvement in the situation,” stated NC general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar.

Sagar further stated that the Kashmir problem is a long-lasting issue that demands to be addressed.

“Top-down orders and diktats are being issued now and then. The ground truth in Kashmir offers a bleak view of New Delhi’s construction of the prevailing situation,” he stated.

Sagar was held and detained for around 10 months in 2019. He criticized the ruling government for creating J&K as a hot spot of discontent.

“Uncertainty and political void and the government’s uneven and dimwitted systems are stark in Kashmir. Problems in Kashmir emerge from complicated past grievances, division of youth, and ruthless failure of New Delhi to discuss the choices and purposes of the people,” Muhammad Sagar stated.

He futher stated that the circumstances unfolding in J&K were only establishing the flow of opinions people possessed.

“Increased targeted crimes, unemployment, return of bunkers, developing footprints of defence forces, extensive unaccountability, bureaucratic inactivity, increasing debt, victims of defence troops, and failing economy and business in Jammu and Kashmir are the existing examples of ruling administration failures” Sagar added further.
