Digital Desk: World No. 1 javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, who is recovering from a muscle complaint, is expected to compete in the sixth stage of the Wanda Diamond League on June 30 in Switzerland's Lausanne.

There has been no formal confirmation from the defending Olympic champion, but the competition's official website states that the Indian will compete at the month-end tournament.

"In the javelin, Indian Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra will be challenged by Czech Jakub Vadlejch and German Julian Weber," stated the website.

Chopra disclosed on Twitter last month that he had suffered a muscle strain while training and had withdrawn from the FBK Games in the Netherlands (4 June) and the Paavo Nurmi meets in Finland (13 June) as a matter of caution.

Neeraj will not compete in the National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships, which are now taking place in Bhubaneswar.

Furthermore, he also has a competition set at the Golden Spike Ostrava in the Czech Republic on June 27, although an official announcement has yet to be made.

On May 5, the 25-year-old won the Doha Diamond League with a throw of 88.67m, finishing off a flawless start to the season.

Along with the Diamond League Finals and the Asian Games, there's also the World Championships to be held on from 19-27 August in Budapest, Hungary.
