Digital Desk: In a distressing incident, a newborn baby was found abandoned on a sidewalk in Assam’s Jorhat district on Monday night. 

The infant was discovered near Devicharan Barua Girls College on AT Road, just behind the girls' hostel.

Two women passing by the area were alarmed by the sight and promptly informed the local authorities. The police responded swiftly, and the baby, who was miraculously still alive, was rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.
