Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while addressing a presser revealed that the next SOP relating to Covid-19 lockdown will focus on districts with high covid cases. The second wave of covid-19 virus is still prevalent in the state forcing the government to take some strict measures to curb the rate of infection in the districts with high number of cases.

Assam’s Covid-19 tally rose to 5,15,981 as 2,375 more people tested positive for the virus on Saturday while 28 new fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,632, the National Health Mission.

On Sunday, 1,214 fresh cases were reported out of 53,848 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. The active caseload stands at 22,155. Meanwhile the positivity rate stands at 2.25 per cent.
