Later, Ri Bhoi District police reached the spot to take stock of the situation and prevent any untoward incident.


Digital Desk: On Thursday, the local employees of the National Highway Authority of India toll plaza at Pahammawleiñ in Ri Bhoi District took the street and demanded the immediate removal of the Manager of the toll plaza on alleged highhandedness and misbehavior toward the local employees at the plaza.

 

The employee, especially the women folk, alleged that one Gagiur Rahman, Manager under the M. B. Consortium company, has been misbehaving with the local employees and making false accusations numerous times, which they cannot tolerate anymore.

 

On Thursday evening, over 20 to 30 employees of the Pahammawleiñ toll plaza stopped their service and staged a dharna at the plaza office. Later, Ri Bhoi District police reached the spot to take stock of the situation and prevent any untoward incident.

 

Informing the Media, Kyrngun Sylliang, representative of Lumjingshai Pahammawleiñ, and Jayan Sylliang, the local director of the plaza, slammed the action of the Manager and backed the agitation of the employees who demanded immediate removal of the Manager.
