Digital Desk: Today, Nitish Kumar resigned as Chief Minister of Bihar , bringing an end to his over two-decade-long tenure in the state’s top post. He submitted his resignation after dissolving his Cabinet following its final meeting in Patna.


His resignation was accepted which was accepted by Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Governor Syed Ata Hasnain. Kumar, who has also recently been elected to the Rajya Sabha, steps down after serving ten terms as Chief Minister and remaining a central figure in Bihar’s political landscape.


A meeting of the NDA is scheduled to be held at 4 pm in the Central Hall of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, where the next Chief Minister is expected to be announced. The oath-taking ceremony is likely to take place tomorrow.


With Kumar’s resignation, the BJP, as the single largest party in the state, is set to form the next government, marking the first time the party is likely to appoint a Chief Minister in Bihar.
