Digital Desk: The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear a plea today by the Assam Government challenging the one-week anticipatory bail granted to senior Congress leader Pawan Khera by the Telangana High Court.

The state government is seeking a revocation of the bail order.

The legal dispute follows allegations made by Khera, who claimed that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma own a company and hold multiple foreign passports.

In response, the Chief Minister's wife filed a case with the Guwahati Crime Branch, citing several criminal and defamation charges.

While Khera had secured temporary relief from the Telangana High Court, the Assam government moved the apex court to challenge the decision.

The hearing will be presided over by a bench comprising Justices J.K. Maheshwari and Atul S. Chandurkar.
