Guwahati, Assam – A focused one-day animation programme on ecumenism was successfully organised by the North East India Bishops' Conference (NEIBC) on July 17, 2026, in Guwahati. The initiative, held at Inspiration, Kharghuli, brought together a significant number of priests and women religious from various parts of the Northeast, aiming to foster greater Christian unity and strengthen collaborative efforts among different Churches in the diverse region.
The crucial event was spearheaded by Bishop Thomas Pulloppillil of Bongaigaon, who serves as the President of the NEIBC Ecumenism Commission. He was ably supported by Fr. Joy Pallikkunnel, the Commission's Secretary, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging session for all participants.
Officials involved in the programme highlighted its importance in promoting dialogue and understanding across Christian denominations.
