During a 90-minute period in the afternoon, the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded rainfall totals of 126 mm and 95.8 mm, respectively.

Digital Desk: Four people were killed by lightning in Khurda district, two in Bolangir, one in each of Angul, Boudh, Jagatsinghpur, and Dhenkanal, according to the office of the special relief commissioner.

It also stated that lightning strikes in Khurda resulted in injuries to three people.

Heavy rain and lightning strikes were seen in the coastal region of Odisha, including the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the official added.

In numerous areas of the state for the next four days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts a similar situation.

According to the statement, a cyclonic circulation set off the monsoon, resulting in widespread flooding.
