Several right-wing organisations as well as the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) quickly expressed their outrage at the statement.

Digital Desk: Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, sparked a big political controversy when he made some comments regarding the "Sanatan dharma," comparing it to diseases like malaria and dengue.

Udhayanidhi Stalin caused a huge stir in Tamil Nadu and southern politics when he declared during a public speech that the Sanatan dharma should not only be resisted but also "eradicated" from the country, calling the religion "against social justice and equality."

According to MK Stalin's son Udhayanidhi, who was quoted by ANI, "Few things cannot be opposed; those should only be abolished." We can't oppose dengue, mosquitoes, malaria or corona. We have to eradicate this. That's how we have to eradicate Sanatana.”

The political leader stated, "I thank the conference organisers for giving me the chance to deliver a special message. I admire that you chose to keep the conference's name "Sanatana Abolition Conference" rather than "Anti-Sanatana Conference."

Several right-wing organisations as well as the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) quickly expressed their outrage at the statement. Udhayanidhi clarified that he never called for the genocide of people following Sanatan Dharma but added that he backed by what he said.

“Sanatan Dharma is a principle that divides people in the name of caste and religion. Uprooting Sanatan Dharma is upholding humanity and human equality. I stand firmly by every word I have spoken. I spoke on behalf of the oppressed & marginalized, who suffer due to the Sanatan Dharma,” the DMK leader wrote on X.

In response to Amit Malviya's tweet from the head of the BJP's information technology cell, Udhayanidhi stated, "I am ready to face any challenges that come my way, whether in a court of law or the people's court. Stop spreading fake news.

The DMK leader remained steadfast in his remarks on the Sanatan dharma and stated, "Bring it on" to any legal challenges made about his declaration. In his tweet, Stalin reaffirmed, "I will say it today, tomorrow, and forever: Our resolve to stop Sanathana Dharma from the Dravidian land would not reduce even a little bit."
