Digital Desk: A surge in road accidents across the state has sparked deep concern among residents following a string of tragic incidents in South Kamrup.


Following multiple road accidents in the Goroimari-Sontoli area, which claimed two lives, another collision occurred Tuesday afternoon in Hahchari.


The victims have been identified as Azizul Haque (16) of Ghoramara village and Ruhul Amin (14) of Hahchari village.


Both teenagers sustained critical injuries and were initially rushed by locals to the Goroimari Community Health Centre.


Due to their deteriorating condition, doctors referred them to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).


Tragically, police sources confirmed that Azizul Haque succumbed to his injuries while en route to GMCH.


Officers from the Jorshimuli police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident to seize both vehicles.


A formal investigation into the circumstances of the collision is now underway.
