Digital Desk: The High School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSLC) commenced across the state today, with a total of 4,38,565 students participating.


The exams, which started at 9 am, are being conducted in two sessions: the morning session from 9 am to 12 pm and the afternoon session from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.


Key highlights of the examination:

First Day Subjects: On the opening day, students are appearing for the Mother Tongue (MIL) and English (IL) papers.


New Guidelines: This year’s examinations are being conducted under the revised rules and guidelines issued by the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB).


Security Measures: Strict security protocols have been implemented at all examination centres to prevent malpractice. Students are also given an additional five minutes to review the question paper prior to starting.


Examination Schedule: The examination, which began on February 10, is scheduled to conclude on February 27.


Large crowds of students and guardians were seen outside the examination centres early in the morning.


Assam’s Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended his best wishes to the examinees and wished them a bright future through social media.


Additionally, the use of mobile phones or any kind of electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited within the examination centres. The Examination Department issued specific guidelines to the District Administration to ensure a peaceful and smooth examination process.
