Bangladesh scored 204 runs off 45.1 overs (Mahmudullah scored 56; Shaheen Afridi took 3 for 23, Mohammad Wasim Jr. took 3 for 31).



Digital Desk: Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets to knock out them of the ODI World Cup on Tuesday in Kolkata. After dismissing Bangladesh for 204 runs, the defending champions came back to surpass the goal, reaching 205 for 3 in 32.3 Overs to claim their third victory of the tournament.


Following their dismissals, Mohammad Rizwan (26) and Iftikar Ahmed (17) scored the final runs. Abdullah Shafique (68) and Fakhar Zaman (81) both hit fifties. Mahmudullah, who chose to bat, scored a century off 70 balls, but Bangladesh was unable to gain any momentum as they kept losing wickets.


The other batters to achieve double digits were Mehidy Hasan Miraz (25), Mahmudullah (56), Litton Das (45), and Shakib Al Hasan (43). With three-wicket hauls, Shaheen Afridi (3/23) and Mohammad Wasim Jr (3/31) were Pakistan's most successful bowlers; other bowlers who shared wickets were Haris Rauf (2/36), Iftikhar Ahmed (1/44) and Usama Mir (1/66).
