Digital Desk: A group of supporters reportedly displayed the Palestinian flag and initiated a 'Free Palestine' campaign during the Pakistan vs. Bangladesh World Cup match held at Eden Gardens. In a video and photograph that quickly went viral on social media, three individuals were seen waving the Palestine flag while standing on a dais.

While no official statement has been issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC), local authorities reportedly detained four individuals in connection with the incident. It remains unclear whether these supporters were Bangladeshi or Indian nationalities, as thousands of Bangladeshi fans had traveled to the city to witness the match. The nationalities of the detained individuals have not been disclosed.

The match, which had an official crowd of 27,940 in the 67,000-capacity Eden Gardens, ended with Pakistan securing a seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh after the latter was bowled out for 204 runs.

This incident has gained attention in light of the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas, as tensions in the Middle East continue to make headlines around the world.
