Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve has prompted temporary closures of certain safari activities. The Kohora Range's Jeep Safari will be closed from March 7 to 9 (Forenoon), with the Elephant Safari following suit from March 8 to 9, 2024. This precautionary measure aligns with the Prime Minister's maiden visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site on March 8.

The park authorities have reassured visitors that Jeep Safaris and Elephant Rides in other ranges will continue without disruption during the specified dates. Prime Minister Modi is set to arrive in Kaziranga on the evening of March 8 and will stay overnight at the Police Guest House. His itinerary includes an exploration of the Kohora Range in the National Park on March 9.

The state government and forest department express excitement over the Prime Minister's visit, emphasizing its significance. Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, along with high-ranking officials, scouted potential sites last Tuesday. Minister Patowary announced that the Prime Minister would partake in a jeep safari and an elephant safari during his visit.

A meeting with the Kaziranga forest department addressed security concerns and finalized preparations for the high-profile visit. Minister Patowary highlighted the global significance of the World Heritage Site, stating that the Prime Minister's visit would enhance its stature. Following his Kaziranga visit, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to proceed to Arunachal Pradesh, as confirmed by the minister's statement.

As anticipation builds for this historic visit, the temporary closure of specific safari activities reflects the importance placed on ensuring a secure and uninterrupted experience for both the Prime Minister and visitors alike.
