Digital Desk: The  Prime Minister of India,  Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 2-day Rising Northeast Investor Summit on 23rd  May  to showcase the investment opportunities of India's northeast states and their connectivity with regional and global markets. The summit, organized for  23rd May and 24, will see the convergence of more than 2,000 delegates, including chief ministers of northeastern states, Union ministers, foreign envoys, senior bureaucrats, policy-makers, industry captains, and investors.

The event will host discussions in over nine major sectors, including agriculture, food processing, textiles, tourism, entertainment, education, health, IT, and energy. As per officials, the summit aims to place the Northeast as a key contributor to the economic growth of India in the future.

DoNER Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia highlighted the strategic location of the region, referring to the eight northeastern states as the nation's "Ashta Lakshmi" — a symbol of prosperity and change. He pointed out the geo-strategic benefit of the region, abundant natural resources, a skilled population, and a location close to captive markets in the surrounding nations.

The summit seeks to draw in major investment by highlighting the unexploited possibilities in the Northeast, integrating the region further into India's overall economic success story.
