The BJP replaces Karnataka and Assam leaders as general secretaries, focusing on approaching elections...

Digital Desk: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reshuffled its central office-bearers on July 29 and named MLC and former Aligarh Muslim University vice-chancellor Tariq Mansoor as one of its vice presidents, while Senior Congress leader AK Antony's son Anil was named BJP's national secretary.

Anil joined the BJP in April of this year criticising Congress, stating that many members of the party believe they have to serve a "specific" family.

The list comprises 13 vice presidents, nine general secretaries, including B L Santhosh as the organization's in-charge, and 13 secretaries.

Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the former Telangana unit chief, has been appointed General Secretary. Radha Mohan Singh, a Lok Sabha MP from Bihar and former Union minister, has been removed as the party's vice president.

The party has fired CT Ravi, a Karnataka politician, and Dilip Saikia, an Assam Lok Sabha MP, as general secretaries, with sources telling news agency PTI that they may run in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Additionally, National President JP Nadda presided over a nearly four-hour meeting with the party's national general secretaries on Friday. The discussion concentrated on critical issues such as the approaching Lok Sabha elections, the NDA meeting, outreach plans, and electoral struggles in five states.

During the discussion, Nadda reviewed the party's "Maha Jan Shampark Abhiyan" (Mega Contact Campaign) progress and solicited feedback from central ministries and top party officials on their travels and outreach efforts. The party's roadmap for the upcoming elections in five states, as well as preparations for the Lok Sabha elections, were also discussed.

The BJP intends to increase its active presence among the public in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Mizoram, which will hold assembly elections before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
