Digital Desk: A recent clash under the jurisdiction of Azara Police Station in Bongora Islampur resulted in violence between locals residents, police personnel, and the village headman.


Several police personnel are currently undergoing medical treatment following the incident.


The unrest began when police, accompanied by government officials, arrived in Islampur to serve eviction notices regarding illegal encroachments.


This led to a violent confrontation.


Angry locals vandalised police vehicles and physically assaulted the officers, escalating tensions further.


The situation became severe enough to warrant the deployment of paramilitary forces to restore order and prevent further escalation.


Among the injured are police personnel Tanuj Nath, Prahlad Das, Mantu Ram Das, Namita Kotoki Bodo, as well as the village headman Mukut Sharma.


Concerns remain high over the potential for the situation to deteriorate further.
