Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96 at her summer palace of Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

Digital Desk: Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, arrived in London on Saturday to attend Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral.

President Murmu is in the United Kingdom for three days. She will attend the funeral service and has been invited to a banquet thrown by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace for world leaders on Sunday evening.

On September 8, Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96 at her summer palace of Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

She is being laid to rest at Westminster Hall before her funeral at Westminster Abbey on September 19.

Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) informed that President Murmu will visit London to express condolences on behalf of the Indian government.


"In the 70 years of HM Queen Elizabeth II's reign, India-UK connections have grown, flourished, and strengthened enormously," the MEA stated. As Commonwealth Head, she made a significant contribution to the well-being of millions of people worldwide."
