Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel more than 5,300 kilometres across seven cities and attend eight programmes in 36 hours beginning Monday to launch several development projects in two states and a Union Territory.

According to officials, Modi would drive from Delhi to Madhya Pradesh in central India, then to Kerala in the south, then to the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu in the west before returning to the national capital on Tuesday.

As per reports, the prime minister would drive from Delhi to Khajuraho, a distance of approximately 500 km, and then to Rewa to participate in a National Panchayati Raj Day programme.

Following this, he will return to Khajuraho, travelling a distance of around 280 kilometres on the to and fro journey, and then proceed to Kochi, covering an airborne distance of approximately 1,700 kilometres, to participate in the Yuvam Conclave.

On Tuesday morning, Modi will drive 190 km from Kochi to Thiruvananthapuram, where he will flag off a Vande Bharat Express train and dedicate and lay the foundation stones for several projects.

The prime minister will then travel to Silvassa via Surat, travelling around 1,570 km, as reported by officials.

Modi will visit the NAMO medical college in Silvassa and inaugurate and lay the groundwork for several initiatives. Following these, he will proceed to Daman for the inauguration of the Devka beachfront, and then to Surat, travelling around 110 kilometres. Modi will return to Delhi via Surat, adding 940 kilometres to his itinerary, according to officials.

"Due to his hectic schedule, the prime minister will travel an estimated 5,300 kilometres by air." To put this statistic into perspective, consider the length of India from north to south, which is around 3,200 km," an official said, stressing that the prime minister's whole journey and other programmes are packed into under 36 hours.

Modi is well-known for maintaining a hectic schedule while on his journeys both domestically and abroad, and officials frequently draw attention to how the prime leader makes sure that his visits are jam-packed with crucial meetings and events.
