The announcement was made just after the Election Commission recognised AAP as a national party...

Digital Desk: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has named Priyanka Kakkar as its national chief spokeswoman.

The statement comes just days after the Election Commission recognised AAP as a national party after it met the criterion of Para 6B (iii), name recognition as a state party in four states, namely Delhi, Goa, Punjab, and, most recently, Gujarat.

Following the EC's recognition, AAP president Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, "National party in such a short time? This is nothing short of a miracle. Congratulations to everyone. People from all over the country have brought us here. People have high expectations of us. People have given us this enormous duty now. Lord, bless us as we carry out this responsibility."

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) summoned Kejriwal on April 16 in connection with an alleged liquor excise scam.

After leaving the office, Kejriwal stated that the entire liquor excise fraud claims are fueled by filthy politics.

He stated, "The entire accusations and allegation made against us in connection with the spirits excise scam is motivated by cheap and dirty politics."

"Our basic ideology is that the Aam Aadmi Party is an honest party." We may perish, but we will not compromise our philosophy or honesty. This is why they (the BJP) are attempting to smear us," Kejriwal continued.

The AAP chairman went on to say that because the other parties were unable to provide notable results, they were attempting to discredit the party.

"The second reason is that Delhi and Punjab are doing impressive work that they are unable to compensate for, so they are attempting these unethical tactics," Kejriwal explained. In Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, they were unable to construct a good school in thirty years. They are attempting to slander our party because they are unable to live up to our standards."
