New Delhi: On Friday, India Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to Congress chief and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 77th birth anniversary.

Former Congress leader Rajiv Gandhi was born in 1944. Gandhi was the former Prime Minister of India. He has served during 1984-89 and was assassinated in a terrorist attack in 1991.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also paid homage to his father and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

Several other Congress leaders further paid their tribute to the deceased Congress leader in their Twitter platforms.

The Indian National Congress (INC) official account tweeted with images of party members and Rahul Gandhi paying honor to the deceased leader.

The Assam Congress tweeted a couple of posts-old commemorating the great leader, “We have to restore the culture to fight for the weak and the oppressed. Only by giving so shall we earn the ability to build the India of our visions.”– Rajiv Gandhi #CongressKeVichaar. “
