Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended his greetings to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das for receiving an "A+" on the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2023. 

PM Modi praised the rating as a source of national pride and noted that it highlighted India's position as the world's financial leader.

Taking to X (Twitter), PM Modi wrote, "Congratulations to RBI Governor Shri Shaktikanta Das. This is a proud moment for the nation reflecting our financial leadership on the global stage. His dedication and vision continue to strengthen India's growth trajectory."


Following the publication of Global Finance magazine of the names of Central Bank Governors who received A+, A, or A- ratings as part of the Central Banker Report Cards 2023, the Prime Minister sent a letter of congratulations. The Global Finance magazine rated Reserve Bank of India chief Das as "A+" in the global index.

The RBI announced on X that Governor Shri Shaktikanta Das received an "A+" on the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2023. The first of the three governors of central banks to receive an A+ rating is Shri Das.

The official statement by the magazine read, "The Bank Governors who earned an “A+” grade in the Global Finance Central Banker Report Cards 2023 are: India Shri Shaktikanta Das Switzerland Thomas J. Jordan Vietnam Nguyen Thi Hong."

The Central Bank Report Cards were first rated in 1944 and are now issued annually by Global Finance.
