According to them, when Sukhjeet's motorbike and slippers were discovered next to a canal on Patiala Road, authorities initially believed he had committed himself.

Gurpreet had been purchasing Sukhjeet's wife alcohol for the previous four days, according to Gurpreet's wife's police report. Gurpreet's relatives informed the police that he had passed away in a car accident when they enquired about this, according to the police.

PLAN TO CLAIM RS 4 CRORE

Because of this, Gurpreet's family was once more questioned. Then, they claimed, it was discovered that Gurpreet was still alive and had concocted a scheme with his wife and others to fake his death in order to collect insurance proceeds totaling Rs 4 crore.

It was discovered during the investigation that Gurpreet's family had reported him dead in a traffic accident to the Rajpura police station on June 20.
