Digital Desk: Rajasthan reported its first suspected case of monkeypox on Monday, showing symptoms of the virus.

According to reports, a 20-year-old who was showing symptoms of the virus was admitted to a government hospital in Jaipur. According to Dr. Ajit Singh, the superintendent of Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, his samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune.

The young man was referred to the hospital in Jaipur on Sunday after being taken to Kishangarh hospital on Saturday. According to Singh, who was quoted by PTI, the man has been kept under monitoring in the special ward designed for monkeypox patients.

The young person had rashes all over his body and had fever for the last few days.

There have been six confirmed cases of monkeypox reported in the country so far, and the first monkeypox patient was released from the hospital on Saturday after testing negative for the virus. A single death from monkeypox has also been reported.

Meanwhile, Delhi announced its second case of monkeypox on Monday after a 35-year-old Nigerian man who had not recently travelled abroad tested positive for the virus, PTI said.

The Nigerian man was admitted to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Institution, the focal hospital for treating monkeypox in Delhi, after complaining of rashes and fever.

It may be mentioned that PTL further reported that two more patients of African origin have been admitted to the LNJP Hospital after showing symptoms of the monkeypox virus.
