A video of Malini Mehra's interaction with Rahul Gandhi at the London-based think tank Chatham House has gone popular on social media...

Digital Desk: The senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's statements have caused a lot of stir during his week-long London tour. In one such conversation, Gandhi commended a participant, Malini Mehra, an RSS man's daughter and a London-based CEO for pointing out that India had to get back to "its values".

Mehra stated during a session at the Chatham House think tank in London on Monday evening that watching the current scenario in India saddened her since her father, a proud RSS member, no longer recognised India as it used to be.

"I am depressed about the state of my country. My father was a proud RSS member who refused to recognise the country, bless his soul. How do we engage, re-empower, and revitalise our democracy? "During the conversation, Mehra asked Rahul Gandhi a question. The leader also stated that she was an Indian citizen.

Rahul Gandhi responded to her statements by saying that when she asserts herself and talks about her father being an RSS man and not recognising the country, that comment is quite powerful.

"Because your saying this has a different impact, " said Rahul Gandhi.

Malini Mehra's question went viral and garnered responses on social media. Malini Mehra was described as an "economic fugitive" by former Infosys director TV Mohandas Pai.

“Rubbish! We stayed, worked hard, paid taxes, and created our country whereas these economic exiles fled India many years ago! They're now talking rubbish. We don't need them abusing India. We'd be better off without you and your ilk if you were kept at bay! "Just put a stop to these atrocities," he tweeted.

Apparently, one Twitter user, Malini Mehra's father, Dr. Madhav Mehra, was an IAS official who created the Institute of Directors but had no "known affiliation" with the RSS.

According to Malini Mehra's biography, she is now based in London after working and living all over the world, as reported by the Hindustan Times. Malini Mehra has been a Commissioner on Sustainable Development to London Mayor Sadiq Khan since 2017, and she is an Ambassador for London Climate Action Week, stated the report.
