Digital Desk: Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar filed a complaint with the Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police on Saturday against unidentified people who used his name, photo, and voice in fake advertisements on the internet to fool people.

According to Sachin Tendulkar's complaint, his name, appearance, and voice have been fraudulently utilised online to deceive others. Based on his complaint, the Mumbai Police's Cyber Cell has opened an investigation and filed a charge under sections 420, 465, and 500 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Tendulkar also took to his official Twitter account to warn people that his name, photo, and voice are being exploited without his permission to deceive them.

"Access to trustworthy products is essential. Use the platform's reporting and blocking tools to keep our communities safe. Let's be proactive in creating a safer online environment," he wrote.
