In another shocking incident in Guwahati on Tuesday morning, a woman, identified as Saraswati Das from Bhangagarh, was brutally assaulted with a sharp weapon by a security guard at Orchid Hillview Apartment in Manpara, Dhirenpara.
A security guard, identified as Diganta Gogoi, a resident of Jorhat, allegedly attacked and stabbed the woman multiple times around 9:30 am at the apartment's parking lot.
The attack led to serious injuries to the woman's eyes, neck, and arm.
She was rushed to the Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) and is currently under treatment with more than 15 stitches on her body.
As per the residents of the apartment, the incident occurred due to a love affair. They also said that the victim had an argument with Diganta Gogoi two days before the incident.
The victim was attacked in the parking lot area, where CCTV cameras were not installed.
An investigation is underway, and police have seized the woman's mobile phone from her son.
