The shocking incident unfolded when 19 of the girls managed to escape from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh and returned to Silchar, where they filed a complaint with the Cachar Superintendent of Police.

Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, around 30 young women from Barak Valley districts on Monday accused a placement agency named  Valeur Fabtex Pvt Ltd of engaging in sex trafficking. These women, who underwent a six-month skill-building certificate course in Silchar, were promised nursing positions in renowned hospitals in Delhi and Haryana by the agency.

Valeur Fabtex Pvt Ltd, established in 2012, operates as a National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) non-funded training partner, offering skill training across various sectors in North-East India.

The shocking incident unfolded when 19 of the girls managed to escape from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh and returned to Silchar, where they filed a complaint with the Cachar Superintendent of Police.

According to the victims, after arriving in Delhi on February 15, they were shifted to a hostel located in the red-light area Kapashera, provided by the agency. Despite promises of employment and accommodation in Delhi, they found themselves placed far from the city.

However, the agency claimed that the allegations were being made to destroy their image. “I left from there as I got a medical emergency. I was always in touch with the students and never left them alone,” said the mentor who assisted the students to Delhi.

Meanwhile, authorities have launched an investigation into the matter to apprehend those responsible and ensure justice for the victims. Cachar SP Numal Mahatto mentioned that he took the statement of the victims and monitored the case.
