Ashok Roy Choudhury was a Silchar National Highway road resident. He was a Union Bank employee stationed in Shimoga.

Digital Desk: The body of Ashok Roy Choudhury, a Silchar-based banker working in Karnataka in a train toilet. Roy Choudhury had gone missing on Saturday. His body was recovered from the Yeshvantpur-Shivamoga (Shimoga) Intercity Express train's toilet on Sunday afternoon. During routine duty, the cleaning crew discovered that a toilet in the train scheduled to depart Shimoga at 3.30 p.m. was locked from the inside. Following that, the railway staff broke open the toilet door and discovered Roy Choudhury's body inside. Shimoga police's investigating officer confirmed the deceased's identity as Roy Choudhury. The preliminary investigation revealed that the cause of death was a massive cardiac arrest.

Ashok Roy Choudhury was a Silchar National Highway road resident. He was a Union Bank employee stationed in Shimoga. He married Anushka Chakraborty, an Assam University, Silchar research scholar, last year. The couple previously resided in Shimoga. Anushka was recently in Silchar for an academic assignment. She left Silchar on Saturday for Bengaluru. On the other hand, Ashok caught the Intercity Express to meet his wife.

Anushka reportedly texted her husband just before her flight from Kolkata took off, and he reportedly responded. Ashok's mother, who lives in Silchar, also called her son while he was on the train on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Since then, there has been complete silence from Ashok's end, though his phone has continued to ring.

Professor Apurba Chakraborty, a retired Cachar College teacher, and Ashok's elder brother have already reached Shimoga.
