Digital Desk: In a joint operation with Childline and the Child Protection Committee, Noonmati Police conducted raids at various locations in Guwahati, under its jurisdiction and rescued six child labourers. The exercise was conducted in the areas of Bhetapara, Beltola and Basistha where the minors had been employed illegally by some of the illegal business owners.


Acting on specific inputs, police teams raided garages, car washing centres, and shops in the Mathgharia and Narengi areas, successfully rescuing the children. After the case was filed by the Child Protection Committee, the police filed a case against the culprits who employed child labourers illegally.  An investigation is currently underway to identify and take action against all responsible individuals.
