The latest adjustments have resulted in a significant increase in the passenger fare from Rs 2.50 to Rs 5.


Digital Desk: Since today, the Guwahati-North Guwahati ferry service's tariff rates have been revised by the Inland Water Transport Regulatory Authority (IWTRA) (February 1). 


Wooden/Modern Vessel

The latest adjustments have resulted in a significant increase in the passenger fare from Rs 2.50 to Rs 5.

 

The cost of carrying bicycles has increased from the previous Rs. 4.50 to Rs.10.


Along the same lines, transportation fees for two-wheelers would increase from the current Rs 7 to Rs 15.

 

Additionally, the price of shipping has gone up to Rs 10 per quintal.

 

The tariff rates will double after 8 p.m. (night service) and will be Rs. 10 for passengers, Rs. 20 for bicycles, Rs. 20 for cargo (per quintal), and Rs. 30 for two-wheelers. 

 

For Ro-Pax ferry services, the prices are set as stated below –

Passenger – Rs 20

Bicycle with rider - Rs 25

Goods (per Qtl) – Rs 20

Motorcycle/Scooter – Rs 45

For night service, cost of passengers is Rs 30, bicycle with rider at Rs 50, goods per quintal at Rs 40 and motorcycle/scooter at Rs 90.
