According to the students, the teacher touched their private parts while doing a body search and made "lewd" comments about them.

Digital Desk: On Tuesday, an Agra school teacher was charged with sexually harassing a group of female students under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The minor girls had reported to District Magistrate Navneet Singh Chahal at the district headquarters about the teacher. An RTI activist accompanied the girls and persuaded them to report the teacher's inappropriate behaviours.

According to the students, the teacher touched their private parts while doing a body search and made "lewd" comments about them.

The girls had reported the incident to their parents, who contacted the police. The accused was apprehended on May 13 but freed the following night.

Following the pupils' complaint to the District Magistrate on Tuesday, Agra Police Commissioner directed that a case be made against the teacher. The matter is now being investigated.
