Digital Desk: Voting kicked off peacefully in Telangana on Thursday morning, witnessing citizens lining up early at polling booths across all 119 constituencies. Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj assured that the voting process was proceeding smoothly, although isolated reports of glitches with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) surfaced. Authorities promptly addressed these issues.

Encouraging youth and first-time voters, Raj urged them to exercise their democratic rights, providing information on polling booth locations through the Election Commission of India (ECI) app. Expressing optimism, he hoped for an increased voter turnout this election.

A minor altercation between BRS and Congress workers in Khanapur, Ibrahimpatnam constituency, was swiftly brought under control by the police, who intervened and dispersed protestors from both sides.

Several prominent figures, including movie stars and politicians, cast their votes early. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is anticipated to vote in his native village of Chintamadaka. The electoral process is expected to continue smoothly throughout the day.
