Digital Desk: A herd of wild elephants has sparked widespread concern among the residents of Kampur after venturing out of the forest in search for food in human settlements.
The presence of these elephants has severely disrupted local farming activities, leaving farmers unable to harvest their paddy fields.
The situation has added to the farmers' distress, as the elephants have been causing disturbances in areas such as Teliyati Tetelisora, Noipam, and Bengenati within Kampur's Kathiatali region.
For several days, these herd of elephants has instilled fear across the community.
Tragically, the situation escalated yesterday when a woman lost her life in an elephant attack at Rangalumukh Noipam, while another sustained serious injuries and is currently hospitalised.
In response to the elephants' arrival, many farmers have been forced to harvest their crops prematurely to avoid further losses.
They have urgently appealed to the forest department to implement effective measures to protect their fields and ensure safety of the residents.
