The proceedings on the first day started with discussions surrounding the tragic death of Assam's cultural icon Zubeen Garg.


The assembly is expected to witness intense debates as the opposition is likely to demand justice and answers regarding the ongoing investigation into the singer's mysterious death.


Following these discussions, the Question Hour will commence. A significant legislative workload is scheduled for the day, with at least 11 bills are set to be introduced in the house.


Among these, three are new bills, while the remaining eight are amendment bills.


The new bills include the widely debated 2025 Anti-Polygamy Bill, the Assam Satra Preservation and Development Commission Bill, and the 2025 Siukapha University Bill.


In addition to these, the eight amendment bills will also be presented today.


Various departments are expected to submit their annual reports to the assembly, along with ordinances from different departments being tabled for review.


Furthermore, there is a possibility of extended discussions on Zubeen Garg's death, which has captured significant public and political attention.
