Tezpur: In these worrisome times amidst the Covid-19 pandemic when people are facing difficulties in surviving and the country’s economy is at an all-time low, the Tezpur University’s decision to hike the fee has been widely criticized by the students and the student federation of India.

Reportedly, Tezpur University has hiked the fees by 193 percent in just one decade.

The student federation of India(SFI) criticizing the move called fee hike “brutal” towards the students and the families when the entire country and world is going through tough times. The students have also said that they didn’t avail any facility or services as the campus was closed due to Covid-19 restrictions and the fee hike makes no sense.

It was also reported that a notice was also issued to pay the fees in just 2 days between 2 and 4 August.

Tezpur University on the other hand clarified that no fee hike has been declared this year.
