The eminent writer Sri RongBong Terang will be conferred with the honorary D.Litt. degree for his significant contribution to Assamese literature and culture.

Digital Desk:  The second convocation of Cotton University will be held on May 27th at the International Auditorium of Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati. The Governor of Assam and Chancellor of Cotton University, Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, will preside over the programme and present the degrees and medals to the graduating students. Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Minister of Education of the State Government, will grace the occasion as the guest of honour. Prof. Basuthkar Jagadeeshwar Rao, Vice Chancellor, University of Hyderabad, will deliver the convocation address. 

The programme will start at 10:30 am with an academic procession where the dignitaries, the members of the Executive Council and the Academic Council of the University will take part. On the occasion, 1035 students will be awarded their respective degrees by the Chancellor and 57 students will be awarded gold medals. Eleven students will also be awarded their doctorate degrees in different disciplines. The eminent writer Sri RongBong Terang will be conferred with the honorary D.Litt. degree for his significant contribution to Assamese literature and culture.

On behalf of the organisers, Vice Chancellor of Cotton University Prof. Bhabesh Chandra Goswami and Registrar Prof. Diganta Kumar Das have requested all the stakeholders for their sincere cooperation to make the programme a success.
