Washington: Sunder Pichai from Google, Punit Renjen from Deloitte, and Shantanu Narayen from Adobe have joined the steering committee of the Global Task Force on Pandemic Respons. Global Task Force is managing an original corporate sector leadership to help India strongly fight the COVID19 crisis.

They have joined the Global Task Force committee on Thursday. They are involved in coordinating US companies’ response to the COVID-19 crisis in India.

The global task force is a recently established public-private company founded by the US Chamber of Commerce. It is also supported by Business Roundtable. It is operating with the Chamber’s US-India Business Council and the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum. The goal of the task force is to take quick actions to help address the COVID-19 surge in India.

The US corporate sector so far has allocated more than 25,000 oxygen concentrators for India. The first 1,000 oxygen concentrators, arrived in India with crucial logistical assistance from FedEx.

So far 16 businesses have registered the task force’s ventilator initiative. These businesses will contribute over USD 30 million in support of India’s healthcare response. To date, over 45 US businesses and associations have contributed to the Global Task Force’s activities.

Through its steering committee, the task force will serve to strengthen forces where corporate assistance will be most beneficial, it said.
