Last week, Twitter let go nearly 50% of its staff after Elon Musk instructed them to do so to turn the business profitable.
According to a recent Bloomberg report, the microblogging platform is now recruiting some former employees to "build the new features Musk envisions." The bloodbath at Twitter last week left thousands without jobs and inconsolable. Musk claimed that to turn the business profitable, he had to fire employees. Ad revenue, according to him, was decreasing daily.
Twitter is "reaching out to dozens of employees who lost their jobs and asking them to return," according to the new report. According to sources familiar with the situation, some of the employees who requested a return to work were mistakenly fired. The employees who were asked to return, according to the report, "were let go before management realized that their work and experience may be necessary to build the new features Musk envisions," though the company hasn't provided any additional information on the subject.
