Digital Desk: A sensational honey-trapping case has once again stirred Guwahati, involving a young man identified as Ghosh, who became a victim of blackmail after his explicit photos were taken with a woman.
The victim, a resident of Lal Ganesh, was extorted of Rs 25,000 in this disturbing incident.
The incident was allegedly masterminded by two individuals, Partha Pratim Bora and Bijoy Rajbongshi, who are reportedly close associates.
The ordeal began when the victim was invited to a rented house in the Six Mile area for a party.
During the late-night gathering, the victim was made to consume excessive alcohol, leaving him unconscious.
Taking advantage of his vulnerable state, the duo, along with a woman, captured explicit photos of him.
Using these compromising images, Bijoy and Partha demanded money from the victim.
Initially, the victim handed over Rs 25,000 to the perpetrators. However, the harassment continued as the blackmailers pressured him for more money in exchange for deleting the photos.
Unable to tolerate the harassment, the victim lodged a complaint at the Dispur Police Station.
Acting on his complaint, registered under case number 54/26, the police launched an investigation.
On Thursday night, authorities arrested both Bijoy and Partha in connection with the crime.
