Digital Desk: In a horrific incident in the Borbari area of Guwahati, two dead bodies were recovered from the same room of a lodge.
The dead bodies were later identified as 35-year-old Makibur Islam and a 15-year-old teenager, both residents of Chandmari.
The tragic incident took place at Toosonj Guest House in Borbari, where authorities recovered the bodies.
The police suspect that Makibur committed suicide after killing the teenager. The reason behind the tragic incident is yet to be known; however, authorities believe that it is related to a love affair.
Preliminary investigation suggests that Makibur Islam checked into the guest house on September 5, followed by the teenager on September 6.
Both were reportedly travelling in a Thar, and its GPS location led the police to the lodge, where the bodies were found.
DCP Amitabh Basumatary confirmed that the police are currently investigating the incident. A CID team has also arrived at the scene and joined the probe.
The Noonmati police has initiated further inquiries to uncover the details surrounding the horrific incident.
