Digital Desk: The Border Security Force eliminated two Pakistani drones at the India-Pakistan border in Punjab, foiling an infiltration attempt in Amritsar, the BSF said late Friday.

"A #Pakistani drone violated Indian airspace and was intercepted (by fire) by #AlertBSF troops from the #Amritsar Sector." BSF retrieved the drone during the search. More searches are being conducted. "Details to follow," said the BSF Frontier Punjab on Twitter.


"On May 19 at around 8:55 p.m., Border Security Force troops deployed in-depth heard the buzzing sound of a suspected drone near village Udhar Dhariwal in District Amritsar." According to the training, the troops promptly fired to intercept the drone, according to a BSF statement.

During the initial inspection of the area, BSF forces discovered a half-broken black drone in the farming fields.

In the second incident, BSF personnel shot down a Pakistani drone in the Amritsar area, foiling a smuggling attempt.

"On May 19, at approximately 9:24 p.m., Border Security Force troops deployed in-depth heard the buzzing sound of a suspected drone dropping off something inside the farming fields in the same area." According to the training, the troops promptly fired to intercept the drone," written in the BSF statement.

During the search, BSF personnel discovered a drone and a shipment containing two packets of suspected narcotics, which were fastened to the drone by an iron ring, according to the report.

The total weight of the alleged heroin found is roughly -2.6 Kg.
