Digital Desk: Two youths, reportedly from the Northeast state of Manipur, were allegedly shot dead in Myanmar.

According to reports, both the youths hailed from the India-Myanmar border town of Moreh in Manipur.

On Tuesday morning in Tamu, Myanmar, two youths from the Tamil community were shot. The two young people were shot dead at close range after travelling to Tamu to meet friends.

According to reports, the deceased were identified as P. Mohan and M. Pyanar.

Local sources claimed that Pyanar ran a small shop in Moreh and that Mohan was an autorickshaw driver who lived in Gamnom Veng.

In Moreh, hotels and stores were closed as a sign of protest against the killings.

It may be mentioned that the youths were reportedly shot dead by Pyu Shaw Htee, a militia connected to the Myanmar military.
