Chief minister Pushkar Singh Singh expressed his condolences on the unexpected death of a cabinet member.

Digital Desk: Uttarakhand minister Chandan Ram Dass passed away on Wednesday at the state's Bageshwar district hospital.

The 65-year-old's condition abruptly worsened, and he was admitted to the district hospital's ICU.

Dass, a Bageshwar-based MLA (member of the legislative assembly), was in charge of transport and social welfare.

Pushkar Singh Singh, the chief minister, expressed his condolences on the unexpected death of a cabinet member.

"I am shocked to learn the news of my senior colleague in my cabinet Chandan Ram Dass's sudden death. It's a loss that politics and social services will never recover from," Dhami stated

To honour the leader's demise on Wednesday, the Uttarakhand government has decided to close all state offices for a full day.
A three-day mourning period was also announced by the government.

The state government offices in the district where the funeral will take place will be closed on the day of the funeral, according to the government directive.
