Karimganj: The inclement war of words that ruffled up post violence and gun firing at Assam-Mizoram border leading to several Assam Police personnel injured and dead, breaks out the weak understanding of internal border issues in the Northeast region.

Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga and his counterpart from Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma indulged in a heated argument on Twitter after Assam CM showed videos of post clash which led the central Home Minister to intervene.

As per reports, the Assam Police stated that miscreants from Mizoram were indulging in stone-pelting and attacking Assam government officials stationed at Lailapur to protect Assam’s land from encroachment.

Assam Government on Monday urged the neighbouring state to restrain its “people and police personnel” from indulging in “wanton violence” and work towards restoring peace.
