The Indian cricket team faced a difficult situation after they were bowled out for a below-par 240 on a difficult pitch...

Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that team India performed with amazing spirit and gave great pride to the country after India lost the World Cup final to Australia. In the ODI World Cup final, Australia defeated India by six wickets to win an unprecedented sixth championship.

"Dear Team India, Your talent and determination through the World Cup were noteworthy. You've played with great spirit and brought immense pride to the nation. We stand with you today and always," PM Modi posted on X.

He also congratulated the Australian team for their impressive win saying, "Congratulations to Australia on a magnificent World Cup victory! Theirs was a commendable performance through the tournament, culminating in a splendid triumph. Compliments to Travis Head for his remarkable game today."

On Sunday night, Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles and Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Ahmedabad to see the highly anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup final between Australia and India at the Narendra Modi Stadium. At the airport, Gujarat BJP Chief CR Paatil, Governor Acharya Devvrat, and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel welcomed the leaders with warmth.

The Indian cricket team faced a difficult situation after they were bowled out for a below-par 240 on a difficult pitch earlier in the day after they had batted first. Australian bowlers proved their mettle, living up to captain Pat Cummins's pre-match declaration that he enjoyed quieting a large crowd. A noteworthy incident occurred when Indian captain Virat Kohli (54) was played on while trying to steer a delivery into the vacant cover area, which caused a big loss for the team.

KL Rahul's controlled knock of 66 off 107 deliveries was useful despite the difficult conditions. But while the Indian batters found it harder to make strokes, they were up against a strong Australian bowling assault. Only 13 fours were scored by the Indians during the innings, with three of those coming from captain Rohit Sharma.
