Digital Desk: A woman has been arrested by Hajo Police for allegedly posting a controversial reel on social media that insulted Lord Shiva and attempted to incite communal sentiments.


The accused, identified as Rekha Begum, was apprehended from her residence in Kalitakuchi under Hajo. According to police sources, she had uploaded the reel on her Facebook account on 7th March.


Acting on the matter, Hajo Police registered a case on their own initiative and launched an investigation. Following interrogation, Rekha Begum was formally arrested and later sent to judicial custody at the Hajo jail.


Police stated that the action was taken after the video was found to contain content that allegedly disrespecting  Lord Shiva and had the potential to disturb communal harmony.
