Reports of patient mistreatment by the doctor have emerged at the Dibrugarh Barbaruah Primary Health Center, where inappropriate behaviour towards patients seeking treatment has been alleged.
A tense situation unfolded at the health center on Monday night when a patient, Sagar Kherua from the Ghuronia tea estate in Dibrugarh, arrived in a critical situation.
According to accusations, the attending doctor was reportedly engrossed in her mobile phone for a long time, neglecting the patient's urgent needs.
When the patient's relatives expressed their concerns over the negligence, the doctor allegedly reacted angrily, used offensive language, and declared she would not provide treatment before leaving her seat.
The patient stated that the senior doctor appeared dissatisfied and questioned why a patient would seek treatment at night, asking if it was appropriate to come for treatment at such a late hour.
The doctor also raised questions about whether it was the right time to seek medical attention.
