Guwahati: Guwahatians were once again shaken by a hair-raising incident of brutal murder after the local police in Guwahati recovered a body of a woman from the city’s Boragoan area. The body was found in the residence of the woman. According to the information from the police officials, it is a case of murder as her body was brutally chopped into pieces and wrapped in plastic bags.
The police have identified the woman as Antima Gupta, who is the wife of Santosh Gupta. The married couple was residing in a rented apartment in the area.

Reportedly, the body was recovered from the couple’s bedroom.
Within few hours, the police set the investigation rolling and cracked the murder case. It has been revealed that one Debojani Das brutally murdered Antima Gupta on Thursday before chopping her body in pieces.
During interrogation today, Debojani confessed to bludgeoning her to death following a fight over Antima’s husband as the police confirmed this case to be of trouble caused due to extra-marital affair. Sources said the fight between the victim and Debojani occurred due to her illicit relationship with the victim’s husband, Santosh Gupta.
After a heated fight with Antima on Thursday, Debojani battered her, chopped her body into multiple pieces and kept the body pieces inside a bag in the couple's bedroom.
Earlier today, city police had detained the family members along with Debojani Das for questioning in the brutal murder.
Meanwhile, the Police is also looking into other angles into the murder as Santosh Gupta is yet to be apprehended or summoned for questioning into the incident.
